VOLUNTARY BLOOD DONATION – THE NOBLE GESTURE OF YOUNG PETROVIETNAM GENERATION
For a long time, donating blood to save lives has no longer been a strange act to Vietnamese people. Every year, numerous humanitarian organizations launch large-scale blood donation campaigns, calling on citizens nationwide to join hands in this meaningful activity. Voluntary blood donation has become a beautiful tradition, reflecting the noble humanitarian spirit and the willingness to share and help others in need.
In addition to saving patients and accident victims, blood donation also brings positive effects to the donors themselves. After donating blood, the body is stimulated to produce new blood cells at a rate 8–10 times faster than normal. Regular blood donation also helps reduce iron accumulation and lowers the risk of cardiovascular diseases, among other benefits.
As a unit that always takes the lead in social and community activities, the Youth Union of POTS once again initiated and encouraged partner units to jointly organize the 2018 Voluntary Blood Donation Day.
On the morning of July 5, 2018, from very early hours, employees from member units of the Corporation gathered in large numbers at the lobby of PetroVietnam Building, 1-5 Lê Duẩn Street, Bến Nghé Ward, District 1. The atmosphere was much livelier than on regular working days. Everyone was excitedly waiting for their turn to participate in this noble act of blood donation — one of the meaningful charitable activities organized annually by the Youth Union of POTS (Petro Oil Trading and Service Joint Stock Company).
